“When a book, any sort of book, reaches a certain intensity of artistic performance it becomes literature. That intensity may be a matter of style, situation, character, emotional tone, or idea, or half a dozen other things. It may also be a perfection of control over the movement of a story similar to the control a great pitcher has over a ball.”

—Raymond Chandler

The goal of every writer is to create the best literature he or she is capable of producing. And the search for the American literary masterpiece is a life’s work in the art.

My literary journey is the journey of countless others for whom the written word is a doorway to entertainment, esthetic enrichment and intellectual enlightenment.

The journey is never-ending; writing is an exploration of the heart and mind, territory which is as boundless as human history.

I hope you enjoy my work, my poetry and prose, my opinions on writing and literature—they are profoundly inclusive, but uncompromising in their desire for excellence, because excellence in writing is not found in a type of literature but in its execution.

And that is where all literary masterpieces are found.
